The Ebenezer range pays tribute to the many generations of growers who have painstakingly nurtured their vineyards through good years and bad since settlement. Without their persistence and strength many of the great vineyards of the Barossa Valley would be lost today. Remember, we use parcels of Shiraz that only just miss out on E&E and the Cabernet Sauvignon is made from the best vineyards.

EDITORIAL:
Holding purple hue; shows what can be achieved with Barossa cabernet if the alcohol is held in check; has good structure and clear varietal expression; stained cork an issue. 14.5% alc. To 2015

EDITORIAL:
Outstanding. From one of the relatively rare vintages in the Barossa Valley that was perfect for cabernet sauvignon; the wine has the slight savoury olive twist to its pure blackcurrant fruit one finds in voller climates; the tannins are persisitant and long, and in balance. Screwcap. 15.3% alc. Rating 94 To 2026

No.34: August 13 2009
This has been one of my favourite Australian cabernets for many years. The 2004 vintage does the name proud, with rich, intense fruit that’s complex and serious, and very good balance from the acidity. The texture is tangy and even slightly unctuous, but it remains refreshing and clean. Drink it with well-seasoned lamb and other red meats.

Truly impressive red with Christmas cake, anise/spice and bitter chocolate flavours. Very dense, will age well.

Top rating of the entire release goes to Barossa Valley Estate Ebenenzer 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon. This dances with gorgeously lavish cassis and minty black fruits, a totally hedonistic red.

EDITORIAL:
This is a marvellously fresh, concentrated shiraz with opulent blackberry matched to "sweet" oak. The palate is seamless and prodigiously long, with very fine tannins. Classic Barossa. ($38.00) 14.5% Cork

EDITORIAL:
Stuey Bourne puts an enormous amount of energy into capturing and taming the wild aromas and flavours of his Ebenezer vineyard. In 2005 he has finally achieved a balance between fruit, earth & spice which, on the nose, is identical to the aroma in the vineyard itself. This is the ultimate achievement of a winemaker in search of the exact postcode for his wine.

EDITORIAL:
The 2004 Ebenezer Shiraz spent 18 months in French and American oak, 25% new. Opaque purple-coloured, the nose exhibits toast notes, spice box, blueberry and blackberry. This leads to a structured wine with 2-3 years of ageing potential. Ripe and savoury, the wine has good depth and intensity. It will drink well from 2010 to 2018.

Medium-bodied, but intense and long, with lovely definition to the black cherry and plum fruit, showing no hint of thickness or sweetness; fine tannins sustain the long finish. Drink to 2015

Firm in texture and aromatically dramatic, with smoky, roasted coffee overtones to the blackberry, black cherry and tiny hint of tarragon as the flavors linger expressively. This has great structure and balance, but just needs time. Best after 2011. 600 cases imported. –HS

EDITORIAL:
A tight, acidic wine with very intense depth and length of blackberry/prune juice-like fruit brooding under some excellent oak. Will evolve beautifully with some more age.
