Fruit for the E&E Black Pepper Shiraz comes from carefully selected parcels of fruit grown in the Barossa Valley. Fruit is chosen for its exceptional quality and concentration of flavour. The close relationship between winemaker and vigneron ensures that E&E will continue to build on its reputation as a flagship Barossa Valley Shiraz.
Deep earthen red, purple hue. Lifted aromas of bright, dark berry fruits. A rich, mouthfilling palate of ripe fruit, concentrated flavour, firm but fine tannin with excellent length of flavour. Subtle, complimentary oak rounds out an intense and rewarding mouth feel.
2006 was an excellent vintage. Late winter and early spring rains gave healthy canopies with moderate to low yields. A warm to hot and dry summer meant the fruit harvested was ripe and flavour filled when picked. Matured for 18 months in half French, half American oak barriques, of which 25% were new. Bottle aged prior to release. Another release of an iconic Barossa Shiraz.
